Thick and squishy, these Tunisian Smocked Potholders are as classic as they are functional. In doubled fabric they’ll protect the chef’s hands from the hottest of pots.
This is a tricky stitch to learn, and it’s recommended to watch one of the many excellent youtube videos that have been made to explain this stitch.
This pattern uses every gram of two skeins of Crafter’s Secret Cotton; it may be advisable to buy an extra of each, in case you stitch a little bigger than we do.
Materials:
Crafters Secret Cotton Yarn [2.5oz/70g; 120yd/110m; 100% Cotton]:
1 Ball Each Ivory (02) & Royal (12);
Size 8 Tunisian Crochet Hook
Gauge: 18 sts & 18 rows = 4” in Smocked Stitch
Final Measurement: 7.5” square
