Small and charming as this cup cozy may be, it’s not a beginner project. If you’ve never worked in the round with double-point needles or tried double knitting, this isn’t a good project to start with because you have to do both at the same time, as well as make increases via both knit and purl. But if you’re up for a challenge…
Double-knitting makes this cup cozy both thick and reversible. It’s slightly elastic to fit over your morning takeaway cup, but taut enough not to stretch out over time. A great project to use up scraps of worsted, you can make several of these over a weekend.
This was designed by and for a knitter whose daughter borrowed the knitter’s favorite fabric cup cozy, then lost it. (This one’s better anyway.)
