This snuggly, wool/acrylic blend blanket is richly worked up in cables, braids, and seed stitch. Instructions are given to knit four separate panels and attach them with invisible zipper stitch, so that the long color changes pool into chunky squares that give the blanket a quilted look.
Alternate instructions are provided so that the blanket can be knit in one piece (no sewing);
if using a variegated yarn and knitting in one piece, be aware that the colors will end up striping horizontally across the entire body of the blanket. If you choose to create this blanket in a solid color, however, the no-sew option will work just fine.
We don’t recommend yarns with short color changes for this pattern, as the effect of the cables and braids may be diminished. A solid yarn with occasional color flecks, however, will look lovely.
