Alternating knit and purl stitches give these light and airy kitchen towels their smart squares on the front and raised vertical ridges on the back. To make them larger or smaller, simply cast on more or fewer stitches in multiples of five, plus one extra st. (For a dishcloth, we recommend 51 stitches.)
With both sides equally attractive, there really is no right or wrong side to these towels. Maybe hang one one way and the other the other way? (Dishcloth in photos is The Exfoliator, whose pattern is also available on Ravelry and Etsy.)
